Meeting Brimm

Brimm's Edge is my dream realm. The place I go each and every time I fall asleep. This is my blog where I am going to take you into Brimm's Edge not physically but mentally.

I named it Brimm's Edge because a few months ago, and probably much longer but I recently acquired a better recall memory for my dreams, for a week straight I would wake up with odd phrases in my head told by a unique voice. Along with the voice this character in my dreams had a face I had never seen before, and for my that is weird considering my brain doesn't create new faces. Every face in my dream I've seen before at one point. This face is so strange and unique I'd know if I ever saw him in person. His dark grey eyes and short brown hair don't stand out much but I usually see this character wearing a peacoat and a scarf. One night while lucid dreaming I tried to find him again. I've always noticed him in all my dreams now that I think about it. Either behind a house, in an alley or a passenger on a plane, but he's always there.
Anyways, I went looking for him asking my subconscious where he was and who he was and my subconscious called him Brimm. "Have you seen a mysterious man wearing a peacoat around here?" I asked an old lady inside a small booth selling seashells like in a town square market. We were on a beach so the wood holding these stalls together was soft and mossy. The clouds in the sky readied themselves for a clash between them and the lighting to come.

"You mean Brimm my dear?" Her wrinkled face smiled as the wind blew what little white hair she had left on her head around, pulling it up and down landing softly on her head. The breeze was cold and you could smell the salt from the ocean. I had noticed she had a few missing teeth and she was wearing a dirty tunic with a leather vest over it and fingerless gloves. I looked to my right behind her stall and I heard a crack of thunder as I locked eyes with the man as he passed by a group of people, fading into the crowd.

"Uh.. yeah...Brimm." I said quietly as I started walking away from the old woman but never taking my eyes off the direction the man went.

Heading through the crowd of people buying, trading and selling items the crowd roared with laughter and chatter. They reminded me of the 1800's sailors, like those in the story Moby Dick. There was a small homestead on the beach that leads into a stone bricked road with stone houses. The crowd cleared and I saw the mysterious Brimm walk into an old broken house. The windows were cracked and I felt a twisted feeling when I approached the door.

I opened it and looked around. It reminded me of the Harry Potter wand store but smaller. It was dark, gloomy, dusty and creaky. It looked like the front desk of a hotel with slots with numbers on them behind the counter. Only one box had mail in it and a key room 17. I called out hello as I walked up to the desk. There was a shiny new bell on the desk it looked like something from my time. I tapped the top of it down and I heard the ring echo into the house. I listened for movement but nothing came. I went behind the desk and looked around in the crumpled papers, they were dyed a yellow color like the old paper. All the ink was smeared so I had no clue what this place was but I grabbed the key and searched the halls for the room.

When I found it the door was cracked open and there were two people having sex on an old brass bed with bars on the end. I opened the door and stepped in before I could realize what I walked into the man pulled out and ran at me screaming. He had shaggy black hair and I noticed the man sitting to my right in a chair holding a knife in his right hand, handle in his palm and blade pointed down against his knee. Resting but not penetrating. In his left hand which wasn't on the arm rest of the chair but straight out holding a head of a woman touching the floor. His eyes were set directly in front of him towards the bed. I quickly looked to my left before the screaming man reached me and saw the woman he had been having intercourse with had no head and was tied to the bed. Then the screaming man's jaw stretched over my field of vision.

I was with Harry Potter (ironically) and Hermione. We were in a city made entirely of a smooth marble with swirls of cloud-like colors that remind me of the swirls in bowling balls except they were black with green cloud swirls. I looked up and noticed the sky was red, with shaded red clouds. I was wearing a red silk robe with gold laced trim around the edges. Harry and Hermione were hand cuffed and not wearing any robes. Also we were being escorted by a group of other robed people. I couldn't move my feet only my eyes. We were walking through the streets on this city and people were on their balconies yelling in a foreign language. I looked up at one man. He stopped and fear swept over him as he went for inside. I could hear everyone's thoughts when I looked at them.

Man: What are you doing in Dolotris, Brimm?

Harry: Where are they taking us? We're going to die here aren't we?

Hermione: I'm so scared. I wonder if Harry has a plan. Should I tell him my feelings for him before something bad happens?

The hooded figured had no thoughts or I couldn't read them. Finally we arrived at some kind of courtyard. There were Roman pillars around the yard. There was room for like sword training and dummies, but there was nothing and no grass just the marble ground. They lead Harry and Hermione to the center and made a circle around us three.

Suddenly I turned toward Harry and Hermione and casted some type of spell at them. It shined yellowish white and they fell to the ground. Then I could walk freely and the crowds disbursed. I was trying to look into the faces of the hooded people but I saw nothing. Something caught my attention while I was looking around. I turned to my right and saw a woman’s blue hair coming out from the bottom of her hood. I couldn't see her eyes but I could see her mouth and she smiled and signaled me to follow her so I did. We walked far enough until the hooded people were out of sight then we turned our walk into a run. Her hood flew back and it revealed her smile that was like a rebellious smile that could laugh and evil laugh at any moment. We weaved our way down the alleys and made it to an elevator and she got in and pulled me inside.
"Where are we going?" I asked.

"I need you to trust me." she said.

"I trust you-" but before I could finish the doors opened and she ran off pushing me out. As I got out of the elevator I turned around and noticed there were no controls to call the elevator I spun around to ask her how we call the elevator but she was gone. I headed down the hallway and waiting for something to happen and just as I predicted it did. The woman came sprinting around the corner with an odd object in her hands but before I could ask what it was I noticed she was being chased by more robed figures. I then too ran for the elevator I was hoping it would open on its own and when I had come up to it did. I got inside and waited but she ran in handing me the object and said “Good luck” and kept on running. I tried to run after her but the doors closed. The elevator headed down respectfully and I was about to inspect the object but the doors opened and I was back in the courtyard. I walked over toward Harry and Hermione and the sky lit up and thunder boomed.

I opened my eyes and felt my body underwater as I lifted my head up. The sound of thunder ripped through the sky again. I was on the beach next to the market laying half in the water. I stood up and Harry with wet clothes and Hermione were walking out of the ocean as if we all just got into a heated argument. I looked at Hermione as she stormed off the beach and turned to harry.

“What’s her deal?” I asked.

“No idea, but here. It worked. I hope you know what you’re doing.” Harry said handing me a cube the size of that object. The cube was made of marble. I walked off the beach toward the town and market where Harry and Hermione went however as I did a man in a peacoat was beside me leaning against an empty stall.

“Hello there.” Said the man.

“Who are you? Why are you following me?” I demanded. He ignored my question and reached out and took the cube.

“Thank you for retrieving the cube. I guess I’ll be seeing you around.”

“Who are you?” I yelled as he turned to walk away.

“The name’s Brimm.”

Then I woke up.
